Meet our 2024 President, Cass Lundsgaard!

Hello, everyone! I'm Cass, your 2024 President of the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. I'm thrilled to lead our incredible sisterhood and build upon the legacy of those who came before me. Ever since the start of my Theta journey, I felt a strong sense of belonging and support. The friendships I've made and the encouragement from the inspiring women in Theta have been the highlight of my time at Western.

As Chapter President, I'm honored to chair the executive committee, overseeing various aspects like operations, administration, education, finance, recruitment, external affairs, and ensuring a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Vice president Operations: olivia motyl-lazar

Meet our 2024 Vice President of Operations, Olivia Motyl-Lazar!

Hello! I'm Olivia, and I'm currently in my third year at Western pursuing a degree in economics. I joined Theta at the beginning of my second year. I really wanted to find an environment where I could continue to make new connections while no longer living in residence, and wanted to find a community of girls that would continue to keep me motivated in pursuing my personal and academic goals. Theta has provided me with a group of amazing friends that have been so supportive, and have allowed me to create amazing memories and go on adventures I never thought I would have the opportunity to do while also being in school full-time. It has also encouraged me to step into leadership positions that have taught me that I am capable of more than I ever thought possible.

I am so grateful to be stepping into my position as Vice President of Operations in 2024, where I will help organize our social events and chair the membership development committee as well as the risk prevention team. It is an honour to be trusted by my sisters for this position, and I am so excited to serve as the role model that my past sisters have been for me.

Vice president finance: liz swiston

Meet our 2024 Vice President of Finance, Liz Swiston!

Hi everyone! My name is Liz Swiston, and I am a second-year business student with an honours specialization in accounting! I joined the Gamma Epsilon chapter in the Fall of 2022 and have loved this sisterhood dearly, and all Theta has to offer. Within this chapter, I have grown into the best version of myself, met the most incredible women, and developed both my leadership and academic skills.

In my position, I am responsible for managing chapter's budgets, billing and collecting dues, and managing the facility's leases and rent. Maintaining confidentiality is incredibly important to me as it ensures the privacy and security of sensitive financial information. As last year's Finance Assistant, I have worked in this office for some time. I am thrilled to be stepping into the VP Finance role and honoured to be trusted by the incredible group of women who have become my family.

Meet our 2023 Vice President of Membership, Penelope Stam!

Hi everyone, I’m Penelope!

After moving from Montreal to London, I decided to join Theta in my first year of a sociology major at Western. Ever since, I have had the most wonderful experience and have been surrounded by the most inspiring women. Thanks to this organization, I have found friends that will last me for a lifetime.

I am so excited to work alongside an amazing team this year to serve our chapter. I cannot wait to serve Gamma Epsilon as Vice President Membership and give back to an organization that has allowed me to grow as an individual and as a leader.

Meet our 2024 Vice President of Education, Avery Tattum!

Vice President Panhellenic: Sierra mccann

Meet our 2024 Vice President Panhellenic, Sierra McCann

Hi!! I’m Sierra and I’m in my third year double majoring in psychology and thanatology. I moved from Calgary not knowing many people at Western which influenced me to rush. I joined theta in the fall of my first year and couldn’t imagine my university experience without it. I have met so many amazing and inspirational women from being a part of this organization. This past year I was the director of rho gammas on the panhellenic council which inspired me to become more involved in the greek community and pursue a bigger role on Panhel. I am honoured to be Theta’s Panhellenic delegate this year in which I will be serving as the Chief Financial Officer. I will overlook all financial operations and philanthropic related matters of the National Panhellenic Chapter here at Western. Being involved with the Western NPC chapter has introduced me to so many empowering, hardworking and motivating women from all of the sororities on campus. Pursuing leadership positions within Greek life has allowed me to grow individually and within theta. I’m so excited for this year and what’s to come!

Vice President Diversity, equity, and inclusion:
brook gebreyes

Meet our 2024 VP DEI, Brook Gebreyes!

Hi everyone! I’m Brook, and I am currently in my fourth year in Medical Science. I joined Theta in my second year in winter 2022, coming off the peak of COVID. I struggled to make friends and lacked a sense of community, so I decided to rush and I’m so grateful that I did. Since joining Theta, I’ve managed to meet so many like-minded women and I have formed some deep relationships that I will forever be grateful for. Joining Theta has also helped me grow into a more confident, passionate, and ambitious woman by providing a supportive sisterhood that encourages me to embrace my strengths and explore my potential.

I am so excited to serve as VP DEI this year because my position allows me to foster an environment where every sister feels seen, heard, and valued. I am eager to amplify diverse voices and create spaces for important conversations while working collaboratively to ensure that Theta remains a place of acceptance and understanding.
